Protecting our air and water is important to those of us at Cadre Proppants, and we've built a number of environmental safeguards into our operations.

For example, since sand mining produces dust, we've installed a dust mitigation system that exceeds the state's Best Available Control Technology standards and is more efficient than existing sand plants in the county.

Other initiatives:

• Enclosed screeners to capture dust in processing
• Dust management system for the roads
• Ultra low NOx burner on the dryer - the first in McCulloch County
• Failure detection systems on pollution control equipment
• Storm water pollution prevention system to retain water on our property
• Recovery system to minimize usage and recycle more than 90 percent of water
• Rainwater containment system
• Well monitoring by the Hickory Underground Water Authority
