Adam Carte, CFA • Interim President
Adam Carte is serving as Interim President as Cadre seeks a replacement for former President and CEO, Jerry McGee, who resigned.
In addition to his role as Interim President, Adam is an operating partner at Denham Capital Partners where he provides strategic, commercial and executive management support certain portfolio companies. He has extensive experience in change management in the energy and specialty minerals industries having overseen transitions at five companies.
Cadre is backed by Denham Capital, an energy-and commodities-focused private-equity firm with $7.4 billion under management.
Mr. Carte holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Earlham College and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Rex Tucker • Chief Operating Officer
Rex Tucker joined Cadre Proppants in 2009 and has more than 15 years of project engineering experience in a variety of industries. Most recently, he spent six years at Hexion, a frac sand resin-coating company, as Plant Manager and Proppant Sales Manager for the Permian Basin after being promoted from the position of Production and Maintenance Superintendent. Rex also has held various positions with DuPont, American Acryl and Huntsman Polymers. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M.
Rick Dowd • Chief Financial Officer
Richard C. Dowd is Chief Financial Officer of Cadre Proppants, serving in that capacity since July 2011. Rick also currently serves as an Operating Partner at Denham Capital, a private equity firm where he was a Partner in charge of the firm’s capital markets efforts since 2004. He also has been CFO of Wellspring International, Mapletree Networks and The CanFibre Group, a publicly traded company. Rick also spent twelve years with investment banking firms DLJ, Kidder Peabody and CS First Boston.
Mr. Dowd brings extensive financial leadership experience to Cadre with expertise in accounting and capital markets. He has worked in the commodity, services and energy sectors for both private and public companies, and has extensive experience in raising debt and equity in both public and private markets. Mr. Dowd has served as a director on several boards and currently serves on the board of directors for Greene’s Energy Group.
Mr. Dowd has much involvement in community service and was recently given a Community Service Award by Wellesley Cable Television for his service announcing local high school sporting events. He has also been a guest speaker at various energy private equity conferences.
Mr. Dowd holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Clarkson University and a Master of Science Degree from the Sloan School at MIT. He also holds a CFA designation.
Matt Stafford • Vice President, Sales
Matt Stafford joined Cadre in 2008 with more than a quarter-century of oilfield experience. He has worked as Operations Manager for Hexion and the Technical Manager for the pumping and stimulation division of Superior Energy Services. Previously Matt spent 11 years at Dowell Schlumberger where he held various leadership and development positions including managing Schlumberger's fracturing, cementing and coil tubing services. Matt has a geology degree from Marietta College.
Kimberly Bowron • Vice President, Administration
Kimberly Bowron joined Cadre in 2008. Prior to joining Cadre, Ms. Bowron worked at VeriCenter as Vice President of Human Resources. From 2005 to 2007, Ms. Bowron was Principal Owner of Human Capital Consulting after serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at Clear Channel Entertainment. Ms. Bowron also served as Leadership Consultant for Honeywell and was the Director of Human Resources for both Triconex and Midcom Corporation in California. Ms. Bowron received her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification) in 2001. Ms. Bowron holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Fullerton and a Master of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology from California State University Long Beach.
Edwin Lau • Controller
Edwin Lau brings 10 years of experience in accounting and financial consulting to Cadre Proppants. Most recently he served as Vice President and Assistant Controller for J.B. Poindexter & Company, a diversified manufacturing company. Edwin is a CPA and holds both a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's in professional accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
Cindy Durrett • Director, Planning
Cindy Durrett joined Cadre in 2006. Prior to joining Cadre, Ms. Durrett was with Dynegy where she held several positions of increasing responsibility in the company's natural gas liquids business, including Manager of Merger and System Integration, Director of Distribution and Operations, and Senior Director of Process and Productivity. Ms. Durrett holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Park University in Kansas City.
M.A. Shute • Director, Marketing and Pubilc Affairs
M.A. Shute joined Cadre in 2008 with over 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations and public affairs in the energy industry. Prior to joining Cadre, Ms. Shute served as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Dynegy Inc. Prior to Dynegy, she was Sr. Managing Director and General Manager of Hill and Knowlton, an international public relations consultancy. Ms. Shute also spent 11 years at Tenneco Inc where she held various positions including Worldwide Manager of Public Affairs. Ms. Shute began her career in Washington D.C. on the staff of the Senate Energy Committee after earning a B.A. from Drury University.
